Shye Gilad is an entrepreneurial CEO and former airline captain with more than two decades of experience building, scaling, and leading regulated, capital-intensive organizations.

As cofounder and CEO of ProJet Aviation, he built and scaled a vertically integrated aviation platform spanning air carrier operations, aircraft management, maintenance, and aviation infrastructure. He led the organization from startup through sustained growth, regulatory certification, operational scaling, and multiple strategic acquisitions and divestitures. Under his leadership, the company secured multimillion-dollar capital investment, achieved global FAA certification, and operated worldwide in a highly regulated, safety-critical environment. The business was successfully transitioned and exited in phases between 2014 and 2024.

Today, Shye serves as Professor of the Practice at Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business, where he teaches growth strategy, organizational leadership, crisis decision-making, and AI-enabled strategic execution to MBA and executive audiences.

His leadership experience includes:

Through his leadership advisory practice, Creating Lift Leadership, he works with founders, nonprofit leaders, and senior executives on leadership development, value creation & capture, and organizational design.

Shye currently serves on nonprofit boards and remains active in executive advisory and speaking engagements.
